Netflix has announced the official premiere date of The Witcher 2 on Netflix.
The next season will be released worldwide on December 17. It will feature a few new characters such as Paul Bullion as Lambert, Yasen Aou as Coen, and Kim Bodnia (Vesemir). Season 2 will introduce many new characters. We will be able to meet Dijkstra and some of the Redanian kingdoms for the first-time. At WitcherCon, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, showrunner, said that a lot of fans were excited to meet Philippa. There are many, but Vesemir is one that I look forward to the most. Vesemir is integral to the story we are telling this season.
We’re going back to Kaer Morhen, which is a first season. In a season about Geralt becoming father to Ciri, it was so important to find out who his father figure was. You end up with a multigenerational story because Vesemir, Ciri, and others have their own stories. It starts to feel like “Oh, all these people are meant be inter-acting and learning from one another and fighting with one another.”
Henry Cavill also commented about the journey of Geraltof Rivia, stating, “I played Season One deliberately, which meant he was out in the wilds without the opportunity to engage in vast swathes or dialogue. It was my opinion that the man who speaks less is more intelligent, and it makes him seem like he thinks more. That was my intention. Once you are in a situation with Cirilla and the Witchers, his home space, and those people he already knew, I felt that you needed to allow him to be verbal and philosophical and talk more and be intellectual because that is what he really is. He isn’t just a large, white-haired brute.
Anya Chalotra, Yennefer actress, revealed her top three favorite things about her character. She is a survivor and that’s what I love about her. This would be my favorite. There are many things I love, and there are many. They have become very similar. We are a team, I believe.”
